WWW.VOGUE.CO.UK – “I WAS really excited about meeting her,” said Vogue’s fashion editor Francesca Burns, who first became enamoured with Jennifer Lawrence after watching the 2010 hit Winter’s Bone last Christmas. “I thought it was an incredible film. She’s so becoming in it and I thought she was a really brilliant actress,” explained Burns of the performance that earned Lawrence an Oscar nomination – she was the second youngest actress ever to be nominated for Best Actress Academy Award accolade.

Fast forward to June this year and Burns headed to Santa Monica (or more specifically the house Boogie Nights was filmed in – that prompted woops of “How cool is that!” from Lawrence on set), to style the up- and-coming star for the November cover shoot with photographer Alasdair McLellan.

Then the actress appeared at the Toronto Film Festival wearing a jaw-dropping multi-coloured print dress from the much-coveted collection. Might this be the French fashion house’s new muse, we wondered.

J-Law has been snapped up as the new face of the Miss Dior handbag range and is expected to appear in the Spring Summer 2013 campaign which debuts worldwide in March next year. The 22-year-old is the second youngest Best Actress Oscar nominee of all time (the youngest was then-13-year-old Keisha Castle-Hughes in Whalerider), and found global fame after playing warrior heroine Katniss Everdeen in the film version of Suzanne Collins’ book, The Hunger Games.

A star unequivocally on the rise, Lawrence hits our cinema screens again this month with horror film House At The End Of The Street, then again in December with drama-comedy Silver Lining Playbook – alongside Robert de Niro, Julia Stiles and Bradley Cooper. Although she’s built a name for herself as being one of Hollywood’s more low-key starlets, she’s also known for her impressive red carpet prowess – although what she wears isn’t something that bothers her actor boyfriend,Nicholas Hoult. The pair worked together on X-Men: First Class, which was released last year.
